Welcome to Reviewing the Little Boot Icon, an unfortunately named series of reviews of cards the Reboot Project has changed. Today's review: Chum, a Jinteki Code Gate that does nothing by itself, but is quite taxing in front of another ice.
*Changes: Subroutine now gives +4 strength to the next ice rather than +2 str.
*Pros: Amazing strength to rez cost ratio: 1/4! Makes the next ice harder to break and penalizes the Runner if they don't break it. This combos really good with Komainu, to name one ice. The Runner will hate facechecking this without a breaker, as they risk dying. Thus it will force a jack out occasionally.
*Cons: Positional, so dies to Escher and its ilk pretty bad. If it is innermost, the runner won't bother breaking it. They also might trigger P4inappl3 to get rid of it, but brain damage is great in Jinteki.
8/10 Jinteki ice worth playing out of faction just as much as in, rare praise for Jinteki, since most of their ice works best in faction, even if it's really good.
