Because 3 Archers is better than one.

Went 3/2 in the constructed league. I switched from Power Shutdown to IPO after the two losses and it feels much richer, letting you play the solution to all your problems.

Strengths

  • Archer is very good. 3 Archers is a soft lockout, depending on placement.
  • Your have a lot to put in the remote and most of it is expensive to trash.
  • Fast Advance a 5/3 from hand!
  • Rich w/ Eve & IPO money.

Weaknesses

  • ID ability can really hurt if overused. I sometimes try and limit it to Archer and only 1-3 of the strongest ICE vs. their breaker suite. If you don't need it early you can save it til after the Archers are online to dig for agendas.
  • Can't glacier quite like a Caprice deck, so you have to bluff with facedowns.

The most important skill to have is placing your Archers vs. your opponent, as this will determine the outcome of the game.

Against Crim you don't always need to have one on HQ, but it is important if they are planning to go tag me with Siphons to shut down their econ. Mimic + sucker rigs can be soft locked pretty easily with all your ICE strength adjusting tools.

I originally "teched" the deck against the worst duo with Power Shutdown but it doesn't save the PrePaid Kate matchup. Stack your Archer's on R&D so they have to use 2 or even 3 clone chips to get through -- if they whiff you have some breathing room while they wait to reset.

Against Atman you have troubleshooter to boost your Archers. If you suspect this particular counter for your beloved Archers you are usually looking to bait them into a bad run so adjust your play speed accordingly.

Anarchs will put your ICE in danger but the NEXT ICE really does work in this matchup so play fast and loose unless you suspect a Medium dig.

There is also the element of reading your opponent and whether they will run the remote often with a single Archer installed there or not. A single Archer on each of the remote, HQ, and R&D is usually safe and can get the runner sweating in their seat.

i would also like to note that the flavour of this deck is exquisite, definitely LoveBots gone wrong. Here's the iconic video i'm picturing when I rigshoot you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HeyjZ3SttQ
