Welcome to Reviewing the Little Boot Icon: Identity Crisis! an unfortunately named spinoff to an unfortunately named series of reviews for Reboot-modified cards. Today's review: NEXT Design: Guarding the Net, the fastest ID.
Changes: Influence limit 12<17. Why did FFG think this was better than Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future.
Pros: High influence limit meaning you can import lots of out-of-faction jank. Take 2 turns in a row, putting down up to 3 ice no click cost and drawing back up to 5. You have an amazing Andysucker matchup as Security Testing servers are all iced. The early game does not exist.
Cons: Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future is better. If you don't get at least 2 ice down with your ability, you're screwed.
Playstyle:
- nrdb.reteki.fun Go as fast as you can, being very good against rush decks as you can spend all your on ice to duck Account Siphon.
- nrdb.reteki.fun Power Shutdown and Project Ares to rigshoot the runner so they can't get in.
- nrdb.reteki.fun Run lots of Ambush assets and NEXT ice and play the Mushin No Shin game without Mushin No Shin. Making the Runner broke keeps them in the midgame longer.
7/10 3rd best ID, after Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future and Haas-Bioroid: Stronger Together.
